October Meetings

The Oxford Group meets on Wednesday 14th October at 7.30am at the Four Pillars, Abingdon. The meeting fee is £12. Peter Seddon will be leading an Essential Briefing on the subject of Health and Safety

The meeting fee is £12. The meeting will watch and discuss the 2nd in the series “Business By The Book” on the subject of Leadership

The Oxford Group meets on Wednesday 10th June at 7.30 at the Four Pillars, Abingdon. The meeting fee is £12. Ian Smith will be leading an Essential Briefing on the subject of Planning. When the workshop was run at Stow earlier this year David Crampton commented “I thought that Wednesday morning’s meeting was the best one that I had attended. Thank you. David”

Redundancy Support Workshop

Tuesday Feb 3rd 4pm at the Parish Centre, Moreton in Marsh

We are planning a first Redundancy Support Workshop to discuss further how we can support people facing redundancy. David Stringer of Momentum (member of the Oxford CBL) will be facilitating this workshop which will review the 3 main options:

* coaching / counselling
* a weekly group meeting
* a 2 to 3 day training programme

Oxford Meeting in November – Five Talents

The Oxford Group heard a fascinating presentation on “Five Talents” at their November meeting. Tom Sanderson explained the work of the organisation in providing finance to grow businesses in developing countries. You can find more information here

The Oxford group meeting for November is as follows:

The Oxford group meets at the Four Pillars, Abingdon at 7.30 am on Wednesday 12th November.

Our speaker is Tom Sanderson of Five Talents UK. Five Talents exists to:
* Fight Poverty
* Create Jobs
* Transform Lives
They do this by supporting micro-finance initiatives in developing countries – providing loan capital and training for entrepreneurs. They have partners who are now supporting 18,653 entrepreneurs in 10 countries – impacting around 200,000 people through job creation and family livelihoods.
CBL have been supporting Five Talents UK during 2008.

Oxford Group – October Meeting

An excellent and thought-provoking meeting with David Rae in September. It was good to see so many there.

For October the Oxford group reverts to the usual time table and will meet at 7.30am on Wednesday 8th October at the Four Pillars, Abingdon

For this meeting we will be studying the LICC DVD on the subject of ‘Relating to the Boss’. We look forward to seeing you.

Security in Uncertain Times

An audience with David Rae, former president of Apple Canada

When the global economy is anything but certain, what can we be sure about in business?

David Rae was president of Apple Canada from 1985 to 1992, where for three years he was recognised as Apple’s Manager of the Year. He completed the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School, and in 1988 was appointed Vice President of Apple Computer Worldwide.

David is now President of Crown Financial Ministries, and presents the DVD series ‘Business by the book which explores how to run a better business by adopting Christian principles. See David’s Biography.
